Description of “Chantilly Castle, stables of Prince de Conde and Aristocrats Dinner” Excursion:

The first stage.

Chantilly – The family estate of the prince de Conde.

Duration – about two hours.

We offer a visit to this unique architectural complex which is surrounded by picturesque forests and lakes, the ancient castle of de Chantilly, a valuable jewel in the crown of French aristocratic architecture. This renaissance style castle was built from a single piece of rock in the middle of the reservoir, and the only entrance is over a bridge. Architects turned the castle into a huge, expensive box of surprises: when you visit it for the first time, the castle of Chantilly opens to you in a tremendous way – as an endless kaleidoscope of visual reflections by balustrades, columns, exquisite stucco and stone ornamentation. The park is also amazing; it is full of great sculptures of the Italian masters of the Renaissance.

The castle is home to one of the most exclusive art galleries in Europe with works by Raphael, Botticelli, Van Dyck, Ingres, Poussin, Delacroix … It is commonly known that even the employees of the Louvre consider it a honor to visit the local galleries. The collection of the Prince of Orleans Museum holds over 10 thousand rare manuscripts and incunabula, rare trinkets, and items of life of the court aristocracy. The Aristocratic elite of France gathered their collections over centuries, and every item of this collection is priceless. Warriors and patrons, scholars and lovers – they all created the glory of the castle de Chantilly and created an integral part which still exists today.

Gourmets and lovers of fine desserts will love to visit the place where, thanks to the imagination of the court cook Vatel, the famous Cream “Chantilly” (whipped cream with vanilla) was born. Four centuries ago, the unmatched beauty of the castle inspired local seamstresses to create the now famous “Chantilly” lace, (black tulle with delicate ornament). You’re sure to be inspired by this gorgeous castle and its amazing panoramas.

The second stage.

The big stables of the Prince de Conde.

Duration – about one hour.

The Chantilly Castle was founded by constable Anne de Montmorency, chief of the royal stables, which means that Chantilly has had a long and inseparable relationship with its horses. Since the XVIIth century local stables trained thoroughbred horses and draft horses reliable for court ceremonies. Kings, princes and representatives of the best European aristocratic families rode on Chantilly’s horses.

Today, the large stable of the Prince de Conde is a modern equestrian center, where beautiful mares and stallions live here and train here for international competitions and circus performances. You will see the heart of the French horse-breeding. These large stables were certainly built by horse lovers – the Prince de Conde himself believed that in his next incarnation, he would be a horse. There’s also the Museum of the Horse, patroned by the multimillionaire prince Prince Shah Karim Al Hussaini, Aga Khan IV.

Variety of activities regularly hosts in the hippodrome – from the most expensive dressage horse’s races of the world to the local horse-recess. Touch the horse’s mane; look into their smart expressive eyes, You’ll understand that the world exists precisely for such moments.

The third stage.

Lunch in medieval style.

Duration – about one hour.

It’s time for most intriguing part of the tour– royal gastronomy. Take a relaxing break and enjoy a traditional, medieval style meal at the Chateau de Chantilly.

You will taste three dishes: an appetizer, a main course and a dessert. We offer a special wine voucher for the dinner.

You’ll be able to enjoy your delicious meal in this beautiful, historic setting before returning back to the center of Paris in our comfortable van.
